Luyang Dilaw (Turmeric)

Scientific Names:   Curcuma longa Linn. / Curcuma xanthorrhiza Naves

Brief Description:
Luyang Dilaw, a bright yellow rhizome, is a powerful antioxidant known to have anti-inflammatory, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-carcinogenic activity.

Benefits and Uses:

  • It aids in protecting against formation of gastric mucosal lesion by reducing gastric acid secretion
  • It helps in promoting ulcer healing and decreases abdominal pain
  • It facilitates in reducing post-operative and arthritic inflammation
  • It decreases the biomarkers of inflammation, oxidative damage, and memory deficits in Alzheimer’s disease

Effectiveness:

  • 375 mg of turmeric extract,  three times daily for 12 weeks
  • 250 to 500 mg three times per day
  • take1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder as tea, 3 times a day
